Each photoshoot is completely unique and tailored to you. I travel to your home, so that you can feel more relaxed and at ease. Together, we make the experience memorable and the final result personal to you. Your surroundings, personal belongings, clothes and location are all part of what make the final images individual to you.

Feature 1

‘At the end of the day, regardless of when you are pregnant, mothers throughout all generations ultimately want what is best for their babies. Whatever that may be, never fear asking your grandmother or mother for advice and trust your intuition that is is guiding you to filter the truth from deceit. This can be different for everyone.’

Feature 2

‘Birth: the utmost vulnerable moment you’ve yet to experience in your lifetime. Whichever way the baby is delivered, you will explore a state of being that you will simply not be able to put into words. When spoken about afterwards, some try to explain it as painful, exhausting or sometimes even euphoric.’

 FAQ

QUESTION:

Where does the photoshoot take place?

ANSWER:

I travel to you. I do this, rather than in a studio, because I feel that having your own space makes the process and results completely individual to you. It makes it personal. This way, it also enables you to be in your safe space, which can be essential to make you feel relaxed and comfortable.

QUESTION:

How long does the photoshoot usually take?

ANSWER:

It really depends but a rough estimate is anywhere from 1 -2 hours from start to finish. We go at a very relaxed pace and I make sure to work around you. You can take as many breaks as you need and usually when I arrive it's nice to have a proper chat (perhaps with a cuppa!), have a look at what you might wear, scout some nice locations in your house and go over anything you want me to know.

QUESTION:

Can you photograph my partner too?

ANSWER:

My work solely focuses on mothers and their children. The core of what I do is based around exploring the maternal relationship between mother and child.

QUESTION:

Do I have to be naked?

ANSWER:

Absolutely not. It's essential that you feel comfortable so whatever that means for you. Having skin on show, especially on your bump can definitely help make the photos feel more organic, but if you don’t feel comfortable having certain areas on show you can cover them up. We will make it work around you, your body, your needs and preferences.

QUESTION:

What should I wear?

ANSWER:

That’s completely up to you! We will discuss this beforehand so that you feel prepared, but what I suggest to my clients is to have a small collection for when I arrive so that we can pick around 2-3 outfits together. When it comes to clothing, it’s always so personal. I want you to feel comfortable but what can be wonderful too is if you also have pieces that perhaps mean something to you, or staple pieces from your wardrobe. For copyright reasons, the only thing I would ask is to please not wear or show any branding. Also I like my photographs have a much more natural, minimal feel to them, without big logos or writing which can distract the eye.

QUESTION:

What happens if I am sick or something comes up on the day of our shoot?

ANSWER:

I am aware that pregnancy can be a very unpredictable time. Once you pay your deposit upon booking to secure a date in the diary, we will then have a date to work towards. However, if you are unwell or something serious comes up, I allow one change of that date and require at least 48 hours notice. Please note that deposits are completely non-refundable.

QUESTION:

What about COVID-19?

ANSWER:

All my camera equipment undergoes an antibacterial cleaning process before and after every shoot. I can also wear a mask and gloves on our shoot day if requested. Please don’t hesitate to ask. I also wash my hands frequently during our shoot and I stay within 2 meters apart.

QUESTION:

At what point during my pregnancy shoot I schedule my shoot for?

ANSWER:

I normally suggest anywhere from 32 weeks onwards as a rough guide, however, everyone is different and you may want to capture different stages of your pregnancy. There is no right or wrong with this, it’s however you feel and what you want. Leaving it too close to your due date isn’t recommended as we all know the baby will come when they are ready, as these things simply cannot be predicted.

QUESTION:

Do you retouch the photos?

ANSWER:

One of the main reasons I love shooting with film, rather than digital, is that it is so flattering and gives depth to the photographs. I will always retouch the photos a little, but I like to keep them as natural as possible. With pregnancy, I know there can be variety of body changes. I do not edit any of this out unless a client asks me specifically to. I believe all the magical changes that come with pregnancy are beautiful. You are beautiful as you are, I want to embrace and celebrate that. Please note, there can be no further retouching or changes made after the images have been finished.

QUESTION:

Do you offer bump to baby photoshoots?

ANSWER:

Of course! I offer a discount too, to all returning customers. Whilst we do our pregnancy shoot together we can talk about when your baby is due and around what time you would like to capture you both together.
